Finding Your Feet Donation
Finding Your Feet support families affected by amputation or limb absence, through a range of sporting initiatives and social inclusion projects.
Isolation is a huge problem for many amputees. It has been proven that quality of life and even life expectancy is greatly reduced without social inclusion, with as many as 30% of vascular amputees not surviving to one-year post amputation. FYF is key in addressing this issue. We are directly saving lives!
We run clubs around Glasgow, Ayr, Dundee, Fife, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness and Leeds. These include Swimming, Skiing, Climbing, Gardening, Crafting, Pilates, Singing, Fitness, Meditation, and our most popular ‘Ampu-teas’ session where our ‘Troopers’ meet up for a coffee and chat. We have an in-house Counsellor and an online support forum which offers 24/7 peer support for amputees around the UK and beyond. All of the activities that we offer are free of charge.
We have big ambitions for how to improve the lives of the amputee community and some exciting ideas for the future of prosthetics, but we’re only a small team, so are relying on both corporate and individual supporters and volunteers to help us achieve them.
With your help, we can continue to provide vital support for amputees across Scotland, reducing isolation and changing lives!
